Help protect and rescue Afghan families that assisted our US troops and stood against the Taliban.
When you donate to our heroes, it will go to the overall funds to help, addressing urgent needs first. The amounts shown are just an indication of what those amounts can accomplish.
The Mission
The Taliban is hunting Afghan Allies—our “heroes” as we like to call them—that assisted the U.S. during our missions there: interpreters, engineers, aid workers, and Afghans that protected our fellow Americans for 20 years. Since August, EVAC has been coordinating the protection, evacuations, and eventual resettlement of these heroes and their families. We and they need your help.
Our Team
Our core team is a group of American ex-service members and civilian citizens who are using our time, talents, connections, money, and creativity to help heroes who have been left behind. We have the assistance of a prominent U.S. immigration law firm that is providing ongoing pro-bono support. We are also thrilled to have the resources of a US congressman, of current and former military personnel who are providing intelligence, as well as members of local U.S. Afghan communities who are providing insight, translation/interpretation, and support.
Our Heroes
Information has been altered to protect identities. Every hero’s journey is unique. Check back here for updates of those we are currently assisting as well as to hear about new heroes we add to our efforts.
Hero 1
Hero 1 worked for the U.S. government in Afghanistan. He has a wife, four young daughters, and two elderly grandparents. The Taliban know who he is and are searching for the family. In addition to protecting his own family, this hero has been bravely helping other at-risk Afghans.
Milestones:
☑️ Relocated to Safe House
☑️ SIV (Special Immigration Visa) for him, his wife, and four daughters
⬜️ HP (Humanitarian Parole Application - $575/person) for the two grandparents
☑️ One week’s worth of food and essentials
⬜️ One month’s worth of food and essentials
☑️ New phone and SIM card for secure communication with EVAC team
⬜️ Added to a flight manifest
⬜️ Out of Afghanistan
⬜️ Booked flight to the U.S.
⬜️ Integration Funds* (money for rent, furniture, school supplies, clothes, counseling, groceries, travel in the U.S.)
Hero 2
Hero 2 is a young female journalist who is independently taking care of her two younger sisters after their father sacrificed his life to help the daughters escape a Taliban attack. She often wrote about women's rights and democracy, making her a Taliban target. Their situation is complicated; they do not not have an adult male traveling with them which makes them prime targets for forced Taliban marriages and human trafficking.
Milestones:
☑️ Relocated to a Safe House with a trustworthy male chaperone
⬜️ HP (Humanitarian Parole Application - $575/person) for three people
☑️ One week’s worth of food and essentials
⬜️ One month’s worth of food and essentials
☑️ New phone and SIM card for secure communication with EVAC team
⬜️ Added to a flight manifest
⬜️ Out of Afghanistan
⬜️ Booked flight to the U.S.
⬜️ Integration Funds* (money for rent, furniture, school supplies, clothes, counseling, groceries, travel in the U.S.)
Hero 3
Hero 3 assisted the U.S. military for many years, which makes him a major target for the Taliban who are methodically searching for him in nearby villages. His wife is over seven months pregnant; travelling with her and their young son is exceptionally dangerous. Unfortunately, the family’s SIV (Special Immigration Visa) was stalled due to a processing error at the State Department that we are actively trying to fix.
Milestones:
☑️ Relocated to Safe House
⬜️ SIV (Special Immigration Visa)
⬜️ One week’s worth of food and essentials
⬜️ One month’s worth of food and essentials
⬜️ New phone and SIM card for secure communication with EVAC team
⬜️ Added to a flight manifest
⬜️ Out of Afghanistan
⬜️ Booked flight to the U.S.
⬜️ Integration Funds* (money for rent, furniture, school supplies, clothes, counseling, groceries, travel in the U.S.)
Heroes 4 & 5
Heroes 4 & 5 are Afghan brothers that helped U.S. troops on the front lines of combat, putting themselves in the line of fire to help our troops. Recently, the Taliban killed their elderly father while searching for them. The brothers, their four sisters, elderly mother, and Hero 4’s wife recently survived a tough journey—during which the brothers were badly beaten—before escaping Afghanistan to a neighboring country. They still are in danger of being arrested and sent back to Afghanistan.
Milestones:
☑️ Relocated to Safe House
⬜️ SIV (Special Immigration Visa) for two people
☑️ HP (Humanitarian Parole Application - $575/person)
⬜️ One week’s worth of food and essentials
⬜️ One month’s worth of food and essentials
⬜️ New phone and SIM card for secure communication with EVAC team
⬜️ Added to a flight manifest
☑️ Out of Afghanistan
⬜️ Booked flight to the U.S.
⬜️ Integration Funds* (money for rent, furniture, school supplies, clothes, counseling, groceries, travel in the U.S.)
Hero 6
Hero 6 was the assistant to a General for the Afghan army that helped the U.S. The General and his other aids were able to get out of Afghanistan, but our hero chose to stay behind to finish his specific mission. This brave act kept him from getting out on transport in time. Since he served a high-ranking General, the Taliban are actively searching for him so he is in constant need of new safe houses and secure phones.
Milestones:
☑️ Relocated to Safe House including professional counseling (new safe house needed soon)
⬜️ HP (Humanitarian Parole Application - $575/person)
⬜️ One week’s worth of food and essentials
⬜️ One month’s worth of food and essentials
☑️ New phone and SIM card for secure communication with EVAC team (but new phone/SIM needed soon)
⬜️ Added to a flight manifest
⬜️ Out of Afghanistan
⬜️ Booked flight to the U.S.
⬜️ Integration Funds* (money for rent, furniture, school supplies, clothes, counseling, groceries, travel in the U.S.)
*Integration Funds: we don’t want our heroes and their families to just immigrate to the U.S., we want them to fully integrate! We want them to arrive in the U.S., fully supported and at-home with monetary, social, and psychological support.
Our Financial Needs
Donations
The financial system in Afghanistan has collapsed and none of the families have access to banks. Getting money into the physical hands of the families is complicated but, so far, we have been successful every time. Donations are not tax deductible, and we cannot guarantee the success of any aspect of our operations. Each member of our core team continues to contribute our own money to these efforts. Please join us.
What your money can do:
$10 - Toy for a child
$25 - Day of meals for an average family
$50 - One night in a safe house
$500 - Month of meals for a family of five
$575 - Humanitarian Parole Application (we hope to currently fund eight!)
$1,000 - Digital Security Package: secure phone & SIM card
$2,500 - Covert relocation to a safe house
$5,000 - Sponsor a family’s full needs for a month while they await evacuation
$10,000 - Flight to the U.S. for a family of six
Our Commitment
We will continue to work tirelessly and around-the-clock (on shifts when possible for our sanity) to save the lives of these families.
We will provide intermittent updates on each family's status in “The Families” section above.
Should any remaining money be left at the end of this endeavor, the money will be disbursed to the families to help their new lives.
If each of these people survive and live full lives to the average life expectancy, you will be part of saving nearly 1,000 years of life. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you on behalf of these beautiful families.
When you donate to our heroes, it will go to the overall funds to help, addressing urgent needs first. The amounts shown are just an indication of what those amounts can accomplish.
